Please thoroughly read the requirements for the application process and email your cover letter, resume, images, website, references, and any other items you believe to be necessary to info@theartloungespi.com.

We regret that we cannot respond to every request for submission. We will contact artists whose work we are interested in. We thank you for your time and look forward to working with you.

Requirements & Standards:

1. A well-crafted resume demonstrating your experience, training, education, and commitment to your art. List all exhibitions; group and solo shows, art fairs, galleries you show in, or businesses you hang your work in (coffee shops, hair salons, restaurants, office buildings). List how much work have you sold in the last year or the last 6 months. Have you been featured in the press anywhere? Have you won art prizes before?

2. Cover letter: Demonstrate where you are at in your career (emerging, mid-career, established artists), and why you and your art are a good fit for The Art Lounge and our market.

3. Do your research and show your support. Have you visited The Art Lounge or attended any of our events? Do you follow us on social media? The application process goes much better if you understand who we are and what you are applying for.

4. A cohesive body of work: You should be able to demonstrate a recognizable style or theme that shows consistency across your work within a specific series. This applies to subject, style, and medium. We wish to see what sets you apart from all of the other applicants as well as all of the current artists. We want to see your unique “signature” style.

5. Quality materials and finishes: The Art Lounge will only accept high-quality framed or finished works. If offering prints- they must be giclée (of museum archival quality).

6. Sufficient quantity of work within each series: Applying artists must already have a sufficient collection of artwork to a ensure quick turnaround time to replace sold work. In addition, if a collector is interested in a piece, we want to be able to introduce them to additional pieces in a series. Ideally, have up to 20 strong pieces before applying to show at The Art Lounge. Submit 5 examples of artwork when applying.

7.  A well-organized website of your present work with well-lit, high-quality images of your work organized by series.

8. High-quality postcards and business cards. Ideally, we would like 20 different images of your work on postcards for collectors and potential prospects.

9. Inventory list of your work with sample price list: you should have various sizes of your work with a clear pricing structure. When you list current retail prices, take into consideration that as an artist, you will always receive a percentage of the purchase price, with The Art Lounge receiving the remaining percentage.

10. References that demonstrate your honesty and authenticity: Please include 3 professional references when applying to The Art Lounge. The lounge is looking for trustworthy, reliable, and professional artists who understand and have experience with artist-gallery relationships (if approached by collectors directly ask how they found your work and direct them back to the gallery to handle the sale when appropriate). We are looking for artists who are excited to be part of The Art Lounge and will promote our partnership within their own circles (i.e. social media, newsletters, websites, press).

How do we make our decision?

We have a panel of artists and sales staff who will review all submissions. They are seeking professionalism and artwork that they personally connect with and believe can be effectively promoted and sold within our market. Additionally, they are looking for pieces that complement the existing work in the gallery.
